As always, I enjoyed having the chance to photograph a baby girl and bring out all of my flowers and ruffles and headbands. A little backstory on how I met her family:

Two years ago I wanted to start a project on adoption. I contacted the Henderson family to see if they were interested in having me come and document their adoption. Unfortunately, we weren’t able to capture that process as it ended up taking place out of state. Though I did not photograph their daughter Ella’s newborns, I have photographed their family portraits and Christmas pictures for the past two years. I was so excited when they asked to do a newborn session for Ella’s baby sister Emory, who they also chose to adopt. The family built a side business to help fund the adoptions and you can purchase shirts and onesies from them through Raising Arrows. The name was inspired by Psalms 127: 3-4 which says “Children are a gift from the Lord…like arrows in a warrior’s hands.”

Newborn photography is what I love. If you’re looking for someone to photograph your newest addition, feel free to reach out with questions or to book a session.

Blessings,

Leigh
