Emory’s Newborn Session

As always, I enjoyed having the chance to photograph a baby girl and bring out all of my flowers and ruffles and headbands. A little backstory on how I met her family:

Two years ago I wanted to start a project on adoption. I contacted the Henderson family to see if they were interested in having me come and document their adoption. Unfortunately, we weren’t able to capture that process as it ended up taking place out of state. Though I did not photograph their daughter Ella’s newborns, I have photographed their family portraits and Christmas pictures for the past two years. I was so excited when they asked to do a newborn session for Ella’s baby sister Emory, who they also chose to adopt. (more…)

Kathleen’s Newborn Studio Portraits

In August 2016 I donated a gift certificate to the Children's Trust Benefit Gala and Silent Auction. Kathleen's mom contacted me afterwards to let me know that she had won and that she wanted to do a newborn session when she had her little girl. I'm always excited to photograph newborns and especially a newborn baby girl! From September 2016 up until now I have had 29 boys and only 5 girls, so I loved pulling out all the pinks and purples, flowers, and ruffles.

I love the color palate her mom chose! Here are a few of the lovely images from Kathleen's session. If you know of anyone looking for Newborn Photography SC, please feel free to pass on my website and information. (more…)

Leah’s Newborn Session

Right before Christmas break I had four newborn sessions back to back. Talk about crazy! It always surprises me when these teeny tiny mamas have such big babies! Beautiful little Leah (actually, not so little at 9 pounds!) was literally perfection for her session. After having a slew of boys in the studio, it was so much fun to pull out all the frills and flowers and lace.

I like to give parents a teaser with a few samples from the session on social media. Occasionally, I choose to do an Animoto video instead of a collection of static images. Here is Leah's teaser video that was shared on Facebook. (more…)

Allison Rae’s Newborn Session

It's always encouraging when you see returning clients in the studio. I first met Katie, Allison Rae's mama, when she taught one of our three boys in elementary school. A few years ago I photographed her older sister Graelyn's newborns. I love watching these families grow and it's so much fun to have siblings come in for their newborns or milestones. It's amazing to me when two siblings look nothing alike, but that was not the case with these two. Allison Rae reminds me so much of her big sister!

Anna Katherine’s Senior Portraits

I met Anna Katherine (or as I like to call her, AK) in a homeschooling group that both our families were a part of. I cannot believe that she is a senior already! We had so much fun driving around downtown and finding locations that matched the style she was looking for.

I love doing senior photography. Seniors are awesome about being willing and open to search for fun places to shoot. This is a chance for them to showcase their personality with their outfits and fun shoes and for the girls, playing around with some makeup.

Adaline’s Newborn Session

On November 12 I attended the Mommy Expo, hosted by Lexington Mommy (you can check out my table here). While I was there Adaline's mom, Jackie, stopped by and picked up a business card. Two weeks later she booked a newborn session and I was so pleased to be able to photograph her family. After photographing a ton of boys, I was looking forward to having a girl in the studio.
